Founded by multi-award winning writer / producer / director, Victor Shapiro, One-Light Pictures & Words was establised in 2000.  Victor has built One- Light on integrity, quality and passion, and he takes pride in providing hands-on involvement in every project entrusted to OLPW.  With more than 40 years in the broadcast & cable television, video production and digital media industries, Victor brings a qualified set of skills to every project. 

 

Before establishing One-Light Pictures & Words, Victor gained experience in broadband sales with AT&T Cable Media Services. Prior, he spent five-years as Creative Services and News Marketing Director for the UPN network flagship station, KCOP / UPN 13, in Los Angeles, California.  As a Salt Lake native Victor began his career as a television studio cameraman with ABC affiliate KTVX Television, and advanced his way to Creative Services Director before taking the assignment in L.A.  Shapiro has worked in virtually every production and creative phase of the industry receiving local and national recognition. This includes multiple AAF-Utah and District 12 Addy Awards, National PROMAX Gold Medallion Awards, and bronze medal recognition from the New York Film and Television Festival, as well as two Emmy nominations during his time in Los Angeles.
